The Friendship Four tournament takes place on Thanksgiving Weekend each year in Belfast, Northern Ireland

This tournament is part of Boston and Belfast’s sister cities project and follows the first ever competitive NCAA college ice hockey fixtures outside of North America, which were held as part of the 2015 Friendship Four.

Tournament Format

The men’s tournament held in November is a four team knockout competition. On day one, the teams play in regular season NCAA Division I fixtures against conference rivals. On day two, the losers compete for the third place position, and then the winners compete to take home the “Belpot Trophy.”

January 2019 saw the Friendship Series womens competition introduced when two teams competed alongside Belfast Giants games in an exciting weekend of sport.
