The Friendship Four college ice hockey tournament has been renewed for another year in Belfast.

Four NCAA Colleges will come to Belfast to battle for the Belpot trophy in November 2016 at the SSE Arena.

UMass, Vermont, St Lawrence University and Quinnipiac University (currently the number one ranked college side in the States) will make up the four sides this year.

The tournament may become a regular event, with sides already being lined up for 2017.

UMass Lowell won the inaugural Belpot last November in a tournament involving sides from Colgate, Brown and Northeastern University, with 20,000 fans watching four games over two days at The SSE Arena, Belfast.

Good news for ice hockey fans, it's been confirmed that the successful Friendship Four tournament will return to Belfast this year. Nigel Ringland reports from Boston.
